Welcome to NZCoast - New Zealand's coastal information portal
NZCoast has been established as a portal for information relevant to the New Zealand coastal environment and its associated hazards. The primary aim of NZCoast is to give resource managers robust, higher level information on the coast to inform decision-making, and provide the public with educational information and resources.
NZCoast went live on the 1st July 2008. The information you currently see on the site represents only Phase 1 of this project. In Phase 2 we plan to revise the content and layout of the web-site, add additional information, revise the layers in Coastal Explorer and add tool and visualisations. The site is continually under development and we welcome your questions, queries and feedback.
